The Challenge
Operating a multi-use venue at Pier 57 that combines a working winery, dining rooms, and a high-capacity concert hall creates heavy foot traffic daily. City Winery needed physical security hardware and controlled access points built to endure constant public use, secure back-of-house operations, and manage employee and delivery access without slowing down venue operations.
The Solution & Scope of Work
Vertex Security provided a complete entry management and commercial door hardware installation across the facility:
-
Aiphone Video Intercom System: Installed an Aiphone master station featuring a 7-inch LCD display, providing video-verified access for delivery doors and employee entry points.
-
Keypad Access Control: Placed 7 standalone numeric keypads at critical interior doors, allowing PIN-code access for staff across restricted venue areas.
-
Commercial Door Hardware Upgrade: Outfitted doors across high-traffic zones with heavy-duty mechanical hardware, including 70 door closers, 26 lever handles, 14 deadbolt locks, and supporting latching mechanisms to handle continuous daily use.

-
Simple Staff Entry: Standalone keypads offer straightforward PIN access for employees without requiring physical key distribution.
